From 23 to 25 November 2016

The Querini Stampalia Foundation in Venice  will host the international conference “The Philosopher and the Artist. Ludwig Wittgenstein’s philosophy and Eduardo Paolozzi’s oeuvre”.

Organised by the Department of Philosophy and Cultural Heritage of Ca’ Foscari University Venice and the Department of Humanistic Studies and Cultural heritage of The University of Udine, the conference is set to investigate the articulated relationship between one of the most renowned philosophers of the previous century and one of the major British visual artists of world renown.

A total of twenty speakers will participate in the conference, among them philosophers, art historians, as well as scholars of aesthetics and art philosophy from various countries.

In those same days a small exhibition on Wittgenstein and Paolozzi will open at the Department of Philosophy and Cultural Heritage.

The conference pertains to the wider university project “The philosopher and the artist. Wittgenstein and Paolozzi”.
