QUEERini

May 5, 2023

On May 5, at 4 p.m., the Fondazione becomes QUEERini.

A Museum tour to discover how sexuality in its different dimensions has been expressed in the history of Venice. A guided tour, but that’s not all: a multi-voice dialogue that takes the artworks and sources preserved in theFondazione and relates them to the social transformations of the present.

What is the role of museums regarding LGBTQIA+ rights discussions? How to investigate gender and sexuality in cultural institutions? Questions that animate international debate and are generating numerous experimentations.
With:

  • Manuel Meneghel, licensed tour guide, Venice Libertine
  • Nicole Moolhuijsen, researcher and freelancer, University of Leicester and We Exhibit
  • Angela Munari, historian and librarian, Fondazione Querini Stampalia
  • Tommaso Scaramella, research fellow and teaching tutor University of Bologna and Ca’ Foscari Venice

The first group starts at 4 p.m. and closes with an aperitif from 5:30 p.m., the second group starts with an aperitif from 5:30 p.m. and then continues with the tour and concludes around 7-7:30 p.m.
