A Walk through Time... the artists speak! 23 June, 7pm
Art Night 2018
Art Night 2018
23 June 2018

A night of cultural, artistic and musical fusion in Venice: it is Art Night 2018, with free art throughout the night, organised by Ca’ Foscari University and Venice City Council.

For the occasion, the Querini Stampalia is offering 'A Walk through Time... the artists speak!

It is an ‘unprecedented route through the palace’, in which the guides for the evening will be some of the artists of Conservare il futuro, the project which for almost twenty years has created a dialogue between the Fondazione’s antique collections and contemporary works.

Chiara Bertola will chair the ‘collective conversation’, starting in the Scarpa Area and going through the museum-home, before reaching the two exhibitions: ‘Capolavori a confronto. Bellini/Mantegna. Presentazione di Gesù al Tempio’; ‘Una Fornace a Marsiglia. Cirva’ and 'Splendors of the sun and the moon'.

The works will be read and interpreted from the viewpoint and sensitivity of the artists Stefano Arienti, Elisabetta Di Maggio, Maria Morganti, Mauro Sambo and Mariateresa Sartori.

The artists will talk about the experience that led them to work with the history of the Querini family and its collections, from which they drew inspiration for their works, some of which have been donated to the Fondazione.

Each artist will focus on their own works, but also on those by other artists exhibited on the museum route, in an intense rapport with the objects, environments and antique furnishings: it is a way of seeing the Fondazione with a fresh pair of eyes.

The initiative is for an adult audience.

Participation is free, though there is limited availability.
