Querini is a contemporary space in constant flux.

Since the 1950s and 1960s, the Foundation has been conversing with the Contemporary, inviting leading figures to confront history and space in an exploration that continues to this day.

The architectural designs of great Italian masters such as Carlo Scarpa, Valeriano Pastor, Mario Botta and Michele De Lucchi have enhanced the experience of the 16th-century palace, transforming it into a place in which to 'breathe' and make your own.

Contemporary art at Querini fluidly communicates with the past thanks to the project Preserving the Future which, since 2004, under the curatorship of Chiara Bertola, has challenged international artists to create site-specific works.Conceived and created for the Querini, the contemporary works are integrated into the visitor's itinerary, highlighting the contrast between past and present.

During your visit you will find works by Joseph Kosuth, Maria Morganti, Stefano Arienti, Elisabetta di Maggio, Giulio Paolini, Remo Salvadori...

The Querini is also a centre for photography. Starting with the donations of the photographic collections of Luigi Ghirri, Graziano Arici, Luigi Ferrigno and Marck Smith, a photographic archive tells the story of Venice and the world over the last half century.
