Venice's Aresenal had a great tradition in cannons, which were typically objects of study and research. Every time a new piece was designed, a bronze model was displayed on a wood carriage and presented to the authorities.
Since some members of the Querini family were quartermasters of the Artillery and the Arsenal, there exists this collection of 25 artillery models dated to the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries, some of which bear the Querinian coat of arms.
