The ground floor is a “welcome” place where people working or visiting the Fondazione can meet each other. Everybody can live this area in different ways according to their needs. On the ground floor, there are several services like the reception desk, the coatroom, the toilets and the bookshop.
Mazzariol Courtyard
It was the interior courtyard of the palace. In the 90s Mario Botta turned it into a large, central salon receiving visitors and bringing them to the other sections of the palace. The countyard is 91 sq. m. large and can hold up to 100 people on the occasion of informal meetings or buffets.
Auditorium
Planned by Mario Botta and equipped with hi-tech instruments, it is one of the most innovative centres of the city. It can hold up to 132 people seated, however this number can grow when the central area is connected with other interior rooms. The incredible acoustics can turn it into a recording studio.
Education Room
The room overlooks the Mazzariol Courtyard and is close to the Auditorium, to which it is internally connected. It can hold up to 40 people seated and is equipped with multimedia devices. It is perfect for courses, seminar and meetings with a limited number of participants. The 68 sq.m. space next to the coffee shop is also available for dinners or cocktails.
Coffee Shop
This high visible and well frequented area is composed by two rooms of approx. 20 and 12 sq. m. large, that can turn into a exhibition space for works of small dimensions.
These spaces are available also separately.
Carlo Scarpa’s Area and Garden
A section of the ground floor and the garden next to it have been restored by Carlo Scarpa, one of the most renowned masters of the 20th-century Italian architecture. He gave this area the elegance and the magnificence of a museum. There are five interior spaces of different sizes covering 260 sq. m., plus an external area with a 140 sq. m. garden, which can be the perfect location for exhibitions, openings, cocktails, parties, exclusive and prestigious lunches or dinners.
