From 10 to 15 February 2015

On the occasion of the Venice 2015 Carnival, the Fondazione Querini Stampalia organizes a series of events for families and students whose leading title is “The greediest party of the world!”. The yummy Carnival at Querini Stampalia foresees live readings and educational workshops for adults and kids, organized by the Pantakin Acting Company and the BarchettaBlu Association.

Adults bringing their kids will have the opportunity to visit the Fondazione Querini Stampalia for free - Museum, Scarpa Area, "Grisha Bruskin. Alefbet: Alfabeto della memoria” exhibition. Free tickets must be required at the bookshop of the Foundation. At the end of the event, traditional Carnival sweets will be offered to all visitors.

Fairy tales are ready! A tour across greedy fairy tales, organized by Pantakin

Live reading and music with tables full of delicious food, bizarre dishes, unknown recipes, magic and miraculous potions. Our tour among the GREEDY FAIRY TALES across the world opens with a nursery rhyme. In the salons of the palace, you can “fill your eyes and ears” with Norwegian pancakes and Japanese millet bread, while listening to the compositions of the musician and the voice of the readers. It is a feast of fairy tales for adults and kids, whose protagonists are food traditions from every corner of the world. Free activities, reservation required. Max 30 participants. Let’s discover the traditional food of Venice through Gabriel Bella’s pictures. Through the description of the works of the 18th-century artist, a reading introduces the importance of food as well as its healthy and funny variety. Listening to music and playing with natural ingredients, you can create a “menu work” as painters obtained colors in the past. A Free activities, reservation required. Max 15 participants. For secondary schools.

Duration: 2 hours.

A journey across traditional Venice recipes through Pietro Longhi’s and Gabriel Bella’s works, with banquets and hunting scenes at the lagoon, to produce digital stories with food as protagonist. Original photographs of the museum collections are used to create funny short films to be released on the website of the Foundation and BarchettaBlu, as well as shown on the screens inside the Querini Stampalia Palace.
