Tax benefits and advantages
Donations to non-profit organisations benefit from a deduction from gross income tax (‘IRPEF’) equal to 30% for a maximum amount no higher than 30,000 euros (Article 38 of Legislative Decree 117/2017). Moreover, donations made by individuals, entities and companies are deductible from the donor’s net total income up to a limit of 10% of the declared total income (Article 14 of Legislative Decree 35/2005). The law stipulates that such payments must be made exclusively using one of the following payment systems: bank, post office, debit cards, prepaid cards, bank cheques and bank drafts.
