The Querini Stampalia Foundation is among the oldest Italian cultural institutions. Since 1869 we have promoted “the cult of good studies and useful disciplines”, with a curious gaze and a passion for the future.

Since 1869 we have promoted “the cult of good studies and useful disciplines”, with a curious gaze and a passion for the future.

On Friday 25 September, on the occasion of World Dream Day, Fondazione Querini Stampalia presents Dreamy Night, an evening celebrating dreams as a theme that runs through its research: not as an escape from reality, but as an exercise in imagination and responsibility, offering the possibility of looking at the present and imagining what does not yet exist.
The Foundation will open its spaces and temporary exhibitions free of charge from 6 pm to 11 pm, with the opening of a new exhibition, activities in the Library, and a sound and performance event.
From 6 pm, visitors can explore the exhibitions currently on view and attend the opening of Prima che tutto svanisca, a solo exhibition by Luca Rento, curated by Alfredo Cramerotti. The project brings together a selection of works created over twenty-five years, in which video becomes a tool for questioning our place in the world and our relationship with time, with what changes and inevitably disappears.
The Library will also extend its opening hours until 11 pm, with all services available. A selection of readings and recommendations inspired by the theme of dreams will invite visitors to imagine their dream library: what books, stories, spaces and encounters would we like to find there? Because a library is not simply a place where books are preserved, but a living space shaped and transformed by the people who inhabit and pass through it.
From 9 pm, Ceri Wax, one of the most iconic and innovative producers and DJs on the Italian electronic music scene, will present a sound and performance event in collaboration with Argo16, an independent non-profit organisation dedicated to music and the performing arts, run by the volunteer members of Associazione Culturale Spazio Aereo.
Sound will enter the Foundation’s spaces, temporarily transforming them into places to be listened to and inhabited. An immersive experience inviting visitors to slow down, shift their perspective and experience the Querini in an unusual way, bringing individual listening into dialogue with a shared experience.
The Caffè Mariona and Libreria Giovanni will also be open throughout the evening.
